The younger generations can’t communicate at all on a face to face level. I don’t think they know who they are. All I can say, dear Nina, is that I’m glad I’m an old lady. This world is becoming too impersonal and artificial for me.
Hey Nina, I just wanted to share something with you.
There’s an influencer I’ve followed for a while on Instagram and over the past six months, I’ve noticed a shift in their content. It’s hard to explain, but the vibe has changed—what used to feel humble and down-to-earth now feels a bit performative and over the top. I used to really admire their authenticity, but lately, it’s been grating on me.
Yesterday, they posted a video that genuinely made me consider unfollowing them. And you know what thought popped into my head? “Our Nina would never.” God's honest truth!
You’ve stayed true to yourself as your platform has grown, and that’s something I deeply respect. Your rants? They’re real. They reflect what everyday people think and feel. You don’t get mouthy or tell people off for doing their makeup a certain way. You’re not chasing clickbait or putting on a show—you’re just you.
And that’s why I’ll always be a loyal fan. No BS. No performance. Just Nina. Stay humble, stay real. You’ve got something special, and I hope you never lose it.
This was such a nice message to read. I think in this space it’s so easy to get caught up in what looks good online rather than what actually feels authentic. I’ve always wanted to avoid that and just keep things straightforward. I really appreciate you noticing…it makes me feel like I’m on the right track.
I totally agree here. It’s the reason I only follow one person for each topic and I research the crap out of it before I hit subscribe. But most importantly I follow my intuition don’t get me wrong not following has given me regrets in life. But if the person feels off it’s because there something there that just isn’t complete truth. I’m not in social media beside this and YouTube. I learned from seeing my own friends online that a lot of them feel like they need to post something to get likes. Now a lot of them have also stopped using social media because they constantly have to look for the next like. It’s so tiring. I don’t have the energy for that. I’ve never could fake who I am. It’s just so exhausting. I don’t know how people do it.
My favorite thing in your videos is that you do not edit out your mispronunciations. It is so awesome! I laughed so hard one time you read the first three letter and gave up. 😂 You are an incredible beauty educator, but you are very relatable.
