Book of the Month:Your Second Life Begins When You Realize You Only Have One
I picked this book purely because the title felt like a reminder a lot of us need. And the book is exactly that…a gentle wake up call, without feeling heavy or overly motivational. It’s written as a story rather than a typical self help format, so it’s an easy read and doesn’t feel like someone lecturing you.
The story follows Camille, a woman who has a good life on paper but feels completely disconnected from it. She’s doing the same thing every day, going through the motions, and slowly losing interest in everything that used to make her feel alive. Raphaëlle Giordano calls it “routine-itis,” and honestly, most adults have been there at some point…I know I have.
What I liked is that the book doesn’t pretend you need to quit your job, move to the countryside and start a new life. Instead, Camille starts making small, realistic changes. Nothing dramatic….just tiny decisions, different habits, and paying attention to what makes her feel something again. It shows how easy it is to slip into autopilot, and how possible it is to pull yourself out of it.
The message is simple…your life doesn’t change until you decide it matters again. You can start fresh at any age. You can want more, even if your life already looks fine. Sometimes it’s just about choosing differently.
If you’re feeling stuck, bored, or like your days have started blending into each other, this is a really good book to read. It’s light, relatable, and it quietly makes you think about how you’re living. Nothing preachy, just a reminder that you’re allowed to rewrite your life.
If you’ve read it already, let me know what you thought. If not, it’s a great one to add to your list.
Book of the Month: First Lie Wins
This month’s read was First Lie Wins by Ashley Elston, and I’ll be honest, it’s one of those books that pulls you in before you even realize it. You know that feeling when you start a book and you plan to read just one chapter, but before you know it, you’re 3 chapters in? This is that kind of book.
