So, this month’s pick is a little different because it’s one of those books that’s been everywhere online…The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins. If you’ve been on Instagram lately, you’ve probably heard the premise in one sentence: stop trying to control everything and everyone, and just…let them.
Apologies - I accidentally pressed send. I wanted to say thank you for your view on the contents of the book - I felt it didn’t sit right with me as I thought the advice was wrong on quite a few levels but thought I must have been missing something. Your review of the book has justified my thoughts exactly. Again - thank you - I feel you have resonated with more people than you you.💕
Omg Nina, talk about triggering me! Get ready for my rant!

If repetition were an Olympic sport, this book would take gold, silver, and bronze - possibly in every event. I have the Audible version, narrated by Mel herself and let me tell you: if I had a pound for every time she said “Let Them,” I’d be sipping cocktails in the Maldives instead of recovering from this literary loop.
Imagine being trapped in a motivational echo chamber where the phrase “Let Them” is chanted like a spiritual mantra… except instead of enlightenment, you achieve mild irritation and a twitch in your left eye. I got halfway through before I finally gave up on the drivel!
Would I recommend it? Only if you’re conducting a psychological experiment on patience thresholds. Otherwise, let yourself skip it. Let yourself move on. Let yourself live.
I haven’t read it, but I think I’ll pass. Right now I’m living through living with a 99 year old narcissistic mother who is suffocating me! On top of it, she’s becoming delusional! There’s nothing I can do about any of it! If I don’t die first, I will be free when she passes! At that time, I don’t want to micromanage anyone & certainly don’t want anyone else to try to micromanage me. I’d rather stick to the Gestault (Dr Fritz Pearl): “I am I and you are you! I’m not here to live up to your expectations & you’re not here to live up to mine. I do my thing & you do yours! And if by chance we meet—-Fine! If not—-there’s nothing to do!”
I appreciate your take on that. This book is in my purchased Audible folder and I am going to get to it. There are times when you really can just let people show their *ss, but other times-no-they just need to behave and act like decent human beings.
Thank you - thank you - thank you. I have read the book on the recommendations of others - it really didn’t sit well with me and I really thought there must have been something wrong with me because I just didn’t “get it” - to me to have this attitude in real life it was wrong on many levelYou have confirmed everything I was

Read this already and have a tattoo of it on my arm!
I love your take! Haven’t read the book but I saw Mel’s YouTube video on it and it was pretty good.

Omg! Thank you for telling me this before I attempt to listen to it (I've already purchased it weeks ago).
