Worth The Hype: Daytime Foundations

I think daytime foundation is actually harder to get right than full glam foundation. If I’m going somewhere for a few hours in the evening, I can make a fuller coverage base work. For daytime though, I want something that looks good in normal lighting, doesn’t feel heavy, still looks like skin and doesn’t make me feel like I need a full face of makeup around it.

These are the foundations I think really work for that. They’re all quite different, but they have one thing in common: I can wear them on a normal day without feeling overdone.

Armani Luminous Silk Foundation

This has been one of those foundations I’ve gone back to for years, and the reason is so simple. It gives enough coverage to make the skin look polished, but it never feels like a heavy foundation.

I love the finish because it gives the skin a natural glow without looking greasy or overly dewy. It’s one of those foundations that makes your skin look better rather than making your foundation look noticeable. I can wear a thin layer on a normal day, then build it slightly more if I’m filming or going somewhere in the evening.

For me, this is probably the most polished everyday foundation of the four. If you want something that still looks like skin but gives you that slightly more expensive looking finish, I completely understand why this has such a loyal following.
