Why Your Makeup Separates (And How to Fix It in 10 Minutes)
If you’ve ever looked in the mirror halfway through the day and thought, why does my foundation look like it’s breaking up…you’re not imagining it. Makeup separation is one of the most common things I see, and it’s also one of the most annoying because it can make you feel like your skin is the problem when it’s usually not….it’s usually the routine.
Separation usually looks like this…your base starts off fine, then you notice little gaps around the nose, chin, mouth, or forehead. Your foundation looks like it’s sitting on top of your skin instead of blending into it. Or it starts to slide around, especially if you have any warmth, oil, humidity, or you’ve been out and about. (So basically…life.)
Let’s talk about why it happens, and then I’ll give you a quick 10-minute fix you can actually do without redoing your whole face.
