You did your makeup, you looked great, you left the house feeling good…and then by lunchtime you catch your reflection and you look a little dull, a little uneven, and somehow everything looks like it’s been worn way more than it actually has. Just very tired.

The annoying part is it can make you feel like your face is the problem when it’s not. It’s usually a mix of skin prep, product balance, and how the base is sitting by hour 4 or 6. The good news is you can fix it quickly without starting over, and you can stop it happening as often.

What tired makeup actually is…

When makeup looks tired, it’s usually one of these (or a combination of these):

Your base has lost its freshness because your skin has shifted…dehydration, oil, heat, movement, all of it. Your foundation starts looking a bit flat. Concealer settles a little. Blush disappears. The center of the face gets shiny but the outer face looks dry. Texture shows up more. It’s not just one issue, it’s lots of small ones adding up.
