Why Your Concealer Looks Fine…Then Creases
This is one of the most frustrating makeup problems because your concealer can look so good when you first apply it. It’s smooth, bright, flawless and everything you were going for. Then you check a mirror an hour later and it’s sitting in lines you didn’t even know you had, and can be a bit of a reality check.
The annoying part is that most people immediately think they just need a better concealer. Sometimes that’s the case, but honestly, creasing is usually more about application and product balance than the concealer itself.
There are so many things that come into play when you’re doing your under-eyes…prep, concealer, powder, brushes etc. So how do you know it’s just the concealer that’s the issue?
The first thing to understand is that your under-eyes move constantly. We smile, squint, talk, laugh, blink…basically that area is always moving. So technically, almost every concealer will crease slightly at some point. The goal is not to make it completely crease-proof forever because realistically, that’s very hard to achieve. The goal is making it crease less and look smoother for longer.
