Why Wellness Is Going to Be Huge in 2025
Even though ‘wellness’ has been a buzzword for a minute…2025 feels a bit different. It’s not just about drinking green juices or signing up for a yoga class anymore (though if that’s your thing, go for it). This year, wellness is evolving into something much more personal and meaningful. It’s less about doing what looks good and more about what feels good…and that’s why I’m here for it.
The wellness gods (whoever plans and decides this stuff!) are finally catching up to the fact that we’re all different. Rather than focusing on generic advice that doesn’t necessarily work for everyone, it’s going to be focused on personalization. I’m even seeing supplements that can be designed for your body! Wellness seems to be moving into a “made just for you” era. Technology is making it all possible, with apps and devices that track everything from your stress levels to how well you’re sleeping (I do think this can be taken a bit far, but we’ll discuss this another time).
We’ve spent so long focusing on physical health, which is great, and I love it, but in the process, I feel like we’ve neglected the emotional health side. It’s not just about self-care Sunday anymore; it’s about taking care of your mental health every day. Brands are making it easier, too, with things like guided journaling apps, therapy platforms, and even stress-reducing products. Although this has been around and trending for a while, I feel like it needed the time for people to fully take hold of it, make it a lifestyle and habit, in order for us to see and feel the benefits.
I’ve been doing some research on what seems to be on the cards for wellness, and I’ve simplified it so it’s easy to understand and, well, a bit more realistic.
Meditation isn’t for everyone. As much as I would love to be able to incorporate this into my day to day life, (I’ve tried, and I just can’t seem to get it), I have also realized that it’s important to tailor things to you, and what works for you. If you find it hard to meditate, then try breathwork. It’s quick, simple, and ridiculously effective. Think classes, online sessions, even apps to guide you through it. If you don’t have time to allocate to something like this (like me), then you can make it ultra simple and efficient by using something like your Apple smartwatch once a day or whenever you feel you need to take a minute.
We’ve been hearing about gut health forever, but now brands are diving even deeper into how food affects everything…from your energy levels to your mood. 2025 is all about functional foods, like adaptogenic drinks and snacks packed with probiotics. I love this for us, but at the same time I still think it’s important to read up on these things and do a bit of research on brands before you jump right in. By now, most of us should be well aware of how brands can trick you with clever marketing or phrases into thinking they are clean, etc.
This crossover has been happening for a while, but it’s really taking off now. It’s not just about what you put on your skin…it’s about what you’re putting into your body. Collagen drinks, beauty supplements, and even gadgets that track your skin’s hydration levels are all on the rise. I believe that everything should be in moderation and even more so when it comes to supplements, etc. I saw an Instagram reel of someone recently who went through their daily supplements, and I was genuinely so shocked. They were so casual about it…as if they didn’t think there was anything wrong (which lead me to believe this must be common) with the fact they were sitting with literally 20 different tubs of supplements! That can NOT be good for you. So try not to let this side overtake your common sense and keep things simple.
Balance is key. Wellness should enhance your life, not become an obsession or something that stresses you out. Listen to your body, ease into new trends, and remember that small, consistent changes have the biggest impact in the long run.
