There’s something really freeing about not needing to wear what everyone else is wearing. I don’t mind trending items…but only if feel it fits my personality. I don’t jump on trends for the sake of it. This is how I realised I was really starting to understand my personal style.
It’s when you can scroll past the noise, the viral pieces, the must-haves and still feel completely content with what’s in your wardrobe. That’s where the confidence builds. And that’s exactly what today’s edit is about…the pieces that don’t need hype. They just work. It doesn’t matter what season it is, or who’s wearing it…these are pieces that can outlast a trend.
These four are currently in heavy rotation for me…I mean they’re definitely not loud or groundbreaking. But I do feel like they’re timeless, versatile, and kind of feel like me every time I put them on.
1. Nangy Faux Leather Cinched Blazer in Mocha
The structure on this is so flattering. It gives that sharp, cinched silhouette without being boxy. I’m kind of over the oversized, no shape blazer (I’ll still wear it, but I’m a bit bored of it). The mocha tone on the Nangy blazer is obviously much softer than black but still polished. It’s the kind of blazer that doesn’t fight with the rest of your outfit…it elevates it. I love wearing it with all black underneath, or even over jeans.
2. The Frankie Shop Belmont Faux Leather Jacket in Brown
If you’re after a slightly oversized throw on jacket then this is it. It’s got a relaxed fit that still feels intentional, and the faux leather looks luxe. I throw this on for dinners, quick errands, travel…it’s that kind of jacket.
3. Reformation Jessie Thong Sandals in Leather
These are minimal and they instantly make a simple outfit feel styled. It just so happens these are on trend but I’ve been wearing flip flops for so long and will continue to do so long after the trend. I wear them with leggings, tailored shorts and recently midi skirts. Also, these shoes are super comfortable…which lets be hones, at this age, is a non-negotiable now.
4. WARDROBE.NYC x Rosie HW Active Leggings
If I could only wear one pair of leggings for the rest of the year, it would be these. They don’t give gym vibes…they give elevated minimalism. The fit is buttery soft and smoothing without being too compressive, and they pair just as easily with a blazer and heels as they do with an oversized hoodie and sneakers. These are what I reach for when I want to look like I’ve made an effort, even when I haven’t.
None of these are stand out pieces….but that’s the point - they’ll hold their place in my wardrobe far longer than any trend ever could. They’re what I call foundation style: clean lines, high quality, and always wearable.
Love love love this, I spent so many years wearing stuff that didn't suit me just because it was trendy.
