The Correct Skin Prep For Mature Skin
Skin prep is one of the most important parts of makeup…especially on mature skin, but it’s also the part people skip or don’t really think about properly. Most people assume that if their foundation starts looking tight, dry, patchy, or starts emphasizing lines, then the foundation must be the problem. Sometimes it is, but a lot of the time the problem started before the foundation even touched your face.
This is something I see all the time….someone will say a foundation doesn’t work for them because it settles into lines or makes their skin look dry, but then when you look at what they’ve done underneath, the skin hasn’t been prepped properly for makeup…and I don’t just mean using the right products, I mean the timing, order…everything. Mature skin needs a bit more thought before base products go on because it doesn’t always hold hydration in the same way, texture can be more visible, and makeup can sit on top of the skin rather than blending into it.
