Style Isn’t Just What You Wear, It’s How You Live

When we talk about style, most people go straight to fashion, outfits, shoes, what bag goes with what dress etc. Personally I feel real style runs deeper than that. It’s not just about what you wear. It’s what you naturally gravitate towards in every aspect of your life.

It’s in the small choices you make every day that most people overlook. The way you start your morning. How your space smells when you walk through the door. Whether your towel is just a towel or it’s plush, fresh, and part of a ritual that makes you feel like you’re taken care of. It’s the books on your shelf. The way you arrange your skincare…hopefully you get what I mean!

I’ve always believed that someone’s true style comes through when you’re with them. You can see it in their energy, in their posture, in how calmly they move. You can tell when someone knows who they are…not because of what they’re wearing, but because of how they carry themselves.

This isn’t about having a spotless home or perfectly curated wardrobe. It’s not about always being on trend or having the latest pieces. Some of the most stylish women I’ve ever met didn’t have designer handbags or massive wardrobes. What they had was an ease about them. A way of being. They knew what worked for them and they weren’t performing for a feed…that’s real style.

We’ve been taught to think of style as being external, such as what we wear. I’ve been there myself…bought specific trends but when I wore them I just didn’t feel like me. That’s when I knew it’s not about what you wear so much…but more about how you feel. I think the most impactful kind of style starts behind the scenes. The way your makeup area looks after you’ve done your face. The little things that no one else sees but somehow make you feel put together.

And when those parts of your life are styled…when you’re living with intention, even in the smallest ways, everything else starts to come together. You walk differently. You get dressed differently. You speak with more presence. Not because you’re trying to be someone else, but because you’ve created a life that supports the version of you that feels most like you. That’s where I am now. I’m embracing my own style. Don’t get me wrong - I love seeing what’s on trend, but I’ll pick the bits that fit with my style.

Start with your space…the little things, your life in general. These are the things that influence how you feel, and how you feel is what shapes your style.
