Bold Makeup (aka Revenge Makeup)
Think bold lips or eyes. I’ve never been one to say it should be either or, so if you want to go for bold eyes and lips, you can; however, I’d recommend either your eyes or lips being the showstopper for the look. If you go for statement eyes, such as a smokey eye using deep browns, then you can still opt for a statement lip, but using earthy or terracotta tones with a strong, clean lip line. Bold doesn’t necessarily mean bright and vivid colors. It’s how you apply and finish the feature, as opposed to how colorful it looks.
Side parting and a statement lip
I never thought I’d be happy about side-partings coming back, but I love this look! It reminds me of the iconic 90’s supermodel era that screams sleek and chic with boss vibes. The side parting can be done with hair down or tied back into a sleek low pony; either way, it fits the trend perfectly with a statement lip. I’d recommend trying this hairstyle with a natural yet seamless base, a light coating of mascara with no eyeshadow, and a dark maroon lip.
Wet look hair
The great thing about this trend is that it doesn’t matter what hair cut or length you have! A side parting or all hair pulled back works well for this trend. I think a clean base with nude-toned makeup complements this hairstyle perfectly. Use a mouse in damp hair, then comb into your desired style. I like to run my fingers through the hair as a last step before leaving it to set so that it doesn’t look so perfectly combed.
The dark Ballerina look
Finally, something that feels new and fresh rather than old trends being recycled with new names. When you think of a ballerina, you typically think of pale pinks and rosy tones, whereas with this trend, you should imagine a moodier, more gritty version of this. This trend can easily be broken down, and the great thing about it is that you can dissect the dark ballerina trend and pick which parts appeal to you. The dark ballerina look is comprised of satin bows, hair ribbons, ballet buns, natural manicures, black eyeliner, and slightly deeper lip shades.
