I know we’re all focused on what’s going to be trending this year, but I wanted to share my most used makeup from last year…because it just goes to show what actually worked and clearly won me over. Sometimes, I don’t even realize what I’ve been using so much of.
I’ve rummaged through my makeup and pulled out all the products that are nearly finished (and the ones I’ve just bought again). However, whilst digging through my makeup, I also realized that there are far too many products to list, so I’ll be posting the remainder of products in an upcoming post!
In case you’re wondering why I mention several foundations - as a makeup artist I use many and it all depends on what look I’m going for. Sometimes I prefer a natural, barely there look and sometimes I want a bit more coverage. None of this is sponsored and any discount codes I’ve mentioned are purely because I already have one for the mentioned product, and why not help you save some $$?
Foundations
Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin - I didn’t give this a chance when it first came out, and I think it was because I didn’t like the foundation released prior to this. I remember using this one day, and after seeing a picture of myself I realized how beautiful it looks on the skin. It doesn’t exactly stay matte all day, but I don’t believe it’s meant to. Your skin looks healthy, glowy, and it blends effortlessly with a brush or sponge.
One Size Turn Up The Base BBB Cream - This is my ‘go-to’ when I can’t be bothered with all the steps to create a flawless base but I want a ‘as close as I can get it’ result. I’ve been using this for a few years and I love it! It’s a creamy texture that melts right into your skin. It feels velvety on the skin and isn’t heavy. The coverage is medium and very easily buildable. It sets well with a dusting of powder and I don’t actually need a lot of concealer with it. I prefer applying it with a big fluff brush and buffing it into the skin. It doesn’t look so obvious on the skin either…very natural looking with a soft matte finish. I wouldn’t recommend this for very dry skin as it’s pretty good at keeping oil at bay.
