I’m 46. These Are Some Of The Beauty Habits I’d Start Earlier

I don’t look back and think I did everything wrong when I was younger, because I didn’t…I actually love some of the looks I used to create. I’ve always loved beauty, and have always looked after myself in some way, and obviously I’ve worked in makeup for years, so it’s not like I randomly discovered skincare at 45 and decided to get serious about it. But there are definitely habits I’d start earlier if I could go back, because now I can see which things actually make a difference long term and which things we all waste way too much time worrying about.

When you’re younger, you think beauty is mostly about using the right products. But as you get older, you realize the habits matter just as much if not more so than the products. The things you do consistently are what show up on your face, your skin, your hair and the way you feel about yourself.

I’d take SPF much more seriously…

This is probably the most obvious one, but for good reason. I wore SPF when I was younger but not everyday and I didn’t understand it the way I understand it now. I don’t think most of us did. It felt like something you used on holiday, not something you built into your daily routine.
