Bumpy skin texture was the bane of my life for a little while. It can affect your confidence, and instead of concealing, makeup can end up enhancing the texture in certain light. There was one product that transformed my skin, and since then, it’s been a skin journey of carefully looking after my skin to ensure those nasty bumps don’t come back.
The product that turned my skin around was the Lancer Advanced Retinol treatment. I’ll be honest, it wasn’t easy, and it wasn’t overnight. In fact, it kind of got a little worse before it got better. It was also my first time using retinol. My skin started looking incredibly aged and dry, and I had a little flaking of the skin. The part where it got worse was when my skin started purging, which is basically when your skin is shedding dead skin cells to leave a clearer complexion. Once my new skin came through, I was over the moon. I couldn’t believe that just going through a few months of using this product was all I needed to clear up my skin.
What worked for me doesn't necessarily mean it will work for you; however, I always find it’s helpful to hear other people's experiences before starting my own journey.
Based on the products I’ve used since that I truly feel have made a difference, below are my top 5 picks that can help heal the bumpy skin issue:
Lancer Caviar Lime Acid Peel $99 This is a great weekly solution for dull, stressed skin. Even if it doesn’t necessarily look dull or stressed I still think it’s a great weekly treatment for bumpy and textured skin. Don’t be alarmed by the name of this. When you see the word ‘peel’ on a product it’s easy to assume it’s going to make your skin peel. It does depend on your skin condition, however I’ve never had any kind of peeling with this product. It resurfaces your skin, improves the look of pores and is great for fine lines and wrinkles.
The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner $13 Glycolic Acid is great to even skin tone, smooth the surface area and increase luminosity. This toner is water based meaning it can be used daily, however I wouldn’t recommend it if you have overly sensitive skin or peeling. It’s an exfoliant so you’ll noticabley see smoother skin with a more even finish over time.
Drunk Elephant T.L.C Sukari Babyfacial $80 If you want to give yourself an at-home facial within 20 minutes then this is exactly what you need. It’s a gentle product that resurfaces the upper layer of your skin to reveal smoother skin with even tone.
Lancer Triple Peptide drops $125 This has been my holy grail for over a year. I know it’s expensive but trust me when I tell you that this is magic in a bottle. It’s packed full of Vitamin E, Niacinimide, Hyaluronic Acid to help reduce inflammation, boost moisture, brighten skin, and promotes collagen production. My skin looks so healthy when I’ve been using this.
Sunday Riley Good Genes $85 If you’re looking for deep exfoliation then this is for you. It deeply exfoliates pore -clogging, dead skin cells, leaving you with soft and plump skin. This is also a great option for targeting sun spots or discoloration.
