Foundations That Self-Set

No need for powder.

Not everyone uses powder to set makeup (as much as I’d recommend it, because realistically it’s the only thing that’s going to keep everything in place), and some of us prefer a very light base with nothing else on top. However, any foundation just won’t do for this. You need a foundation that kind of semi-sets itself and doesn’t slide around everywhere after a few hours.

I’ve gone through so many foundations over the years, and there’s a special category I always keep in my kit and on my personal shelf…foundations that self-set. Basically, these are the formulas that start out creamy or fluid, but naturally lock into the skin without needing a ton of setting powder.

Here are five foundations that genuinely self-set, meaning they dry down into a more matte or natural finish and stay put. They don’t sit wet on the skin, and they feel more one with your face after a few minutes.
