Book Of The Month: Verity by Colleen Hoover
This was my first Colleen Hoover book and I genuinely wasn’t expecting this.
I’d heard her name everywhere, but I always assumed her books were like soft thrillers…nothing too scary but easy to read. Verity is not that. It’s much darker, a bit uncomfortable at times, and one of those books that pulls you in.
The story follows a writer who’s asked to complete a series for a very successful author who can no longer continue it herself. She ends up staying in the author’s home, going through notes and drafts to try and step into her world…and that’s where things start to feel off.
There’s a manuscript she comes across that she probably shouldn’t have read. And once she does, everything changes. That’s all I’m going to say about the storyline because this is definitely one of those books where you don’t want too much given away.
