Beauty Advice I’d Give My 20 Year Old Self
If I had to write a letter to the 20 year old me...this would be it.
Dear 20 year old me…
You may have mastered the perfect winged eyeliner and figured out how to separate your lashes (after mascara) with a safety pin (yes, really), but let’s be honest….20 year old me was obsessed with looking perfect. Every eyeliner flick had to look perfectly symmetrical. Every pore had to disappear. I spent hours on my makeup, but barely gave skincare a thought.
And while all that precision definitely sharpened my skills, I wish I’d had more fun with beauty. I was more interested in masking than enhancing….chasing perfection rather than playing with it.
If I could sit you down now, bare-faced and blissfully unbothered, I’d tell you this:
Beauty isn’t just what you apply. It’s what you learn, what you grow into, and what you eventually realize was never about looking perfect in the first place.
So here’s some beauty advice I’d give my 20 year old self…and it may actually be…what you need to hear too.
