Beauty trends have always been fast and always come back around, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen them shift as fast as they do now. One minute, we’re obsessed with barely-there makeup…sheer foundations, soft brows, and lips that look like they’ve only got a hint of gloss. And then, out of nowhere, we’re done with natural glam and heading straight into bold, over the top beauty, like we’ve all decided it’s time to reintroduce drama into our looks.
It’s funny how beauty standards change so quickly. Not too long ago, the clean girl aesthetic was our thing, and to be fair it stuck around for way longer than I thought it would. Everything was about subtle enhancements - your skin, but better. Your brows, but fluffier. Your lips, but with just the tiniest bit of overlining. The goal was to look effortless and clean, even though, let’s be honest, the effortless look still required a full routine of skin prep, strategically placed concealer, and a clever brow gel technique.
