A Breakdown of Every Blush Shade (And Who Should Be Wearing What)
The right one makes your whole face come alive.
Let’s be real…blush has had a rebrand. It’s no longer just a dusting of pink on the apples of your cheeks…it’s sculpting, lifting and it's brightening. And with so many shades to choose from, it’s easy to fall into the this looks pretty in the pan trap...only to end up looking like you got caught in bad lighting.
So here it is my breakdown of the most popular blush shades, how they show up on different skin tones, when to wear them, and what kind of look they really give.
Soft Pink
Best For: Fair to light-medium skin tones
The Look: Sweet, soft, fresh-faced
Day/Night: Daytime glow, perfect for no-makeup makeup days
This shade gives baby cheeks. Think early 2000s soft glam, or that ‘I just had a green juice and Pilates’ flush. On fair skin, it melts in seamlessly. On medium skin tones, it can work if layered…but it might need a touch of warmth to stop it from looking ashy.
Tip: Use this when you want to look innocent, polished, or like you woke up hydrated.
