5 Tips to Clear Cystitis
Not exactly a conversation starter...but it's way too common so let's discuss how to clear it up
Unfortunately, a urinary tract infection (UTI) can make you feel like you're carrying around a balloon full of marbles down there. I don’t see many articles on this so I thought I’d share some natural home remedies that work wonders. Ultimately, if it lasts more than 2 days I’d always recommend heading to the doctor for a round of anti-biotics which can also work wonders, but if you want to go the natural route then read on.
1. Hydration First things first, flood your system with water. Staying hydrated is key to flushing out those bacteria causing all the trouble. So, grab your water bottle, set a hydration goal of a minimum of 2 liters a day, and sip away.
2. Cranberry It's a classic for a reason! Cranberries contain compounds that can prevent bacteria from sticking to the walls of your urinary tract, making it harder for them to set up camp and wreak havoc. Whether you prefer the juice or the whole berries, adding some cranberry goodness to your routine might just help clear things up.
3. Probiotics Probiotics, found in yogurt and other fermented foods, can help restore the natural balance of bacteria in your gut and urinary tract. Think of them as the peacekeepers, calming down any issue between the good and bad bacteria.
4. Ditch the caffeine and alcohol They can irritate your bladder and make cystitis symptoms worse. So, as hard as it is, swap that cup of coffee for some herbal tea and go easy on the cocktails for a bit. Your bladder will thank you.
5. Pee, Pee, and Pee Some More When nature calls, don't hold off. Holding it in gives those nasty bacteria more time to multiply and feel worse. So, listen to your body, and whenever you gotta go, just go.
I hope this helps you because it’s helped me! Your bladder will thank you!
