Pressed powder is one of those products that can make your makeup look instantly smooth and polished, but annoyingly it can also make your skin look dry, heavy, or flat if you use the wrong one or too much of it. I think people see pressed powder as something you only use to remove shine, when it’s actually adding more makeup and can lead to a cakey finish. If you go for a good formula, it can blur texture, soften pores, smooth the under-eye, and help your makeup last longer without making your skin look overly powdered.

I also think pressed powder is one of the easiest products to carry around because let’s be honest…who’s going to carry around a loose powder?! It’s messy and isn’t exactly right for a quick fix. With pressed powder you can use it when you first apply your makeup, keep it in your bag for touch-ups, or lightly press it over areas where your foundation has started to move. The key is choosing a powder that is finely milled and applying it in thin layers rather than repeatedly adding more throughout the day. I would recommend only having to use a pressed powder once throughout the day! Always remember that every time you add more of it, it’s adding more makeup. I’m sorry, but that’s just the reality of it. However…if you want to know which ones you should choose from, keep reading!
