My skin has been through a lot over the years…late nights, long flights, heavy makeup, product overload, stress, hormones, everything…even nights that I went to sleep without removing makeup (I was young and stupid). There were years where I tried every trending skin product under the sun and still felt like I couldn’t keep up. Now my routine is simpler, more consistent, and my skin is the best it’s ever looked.
These are the five beauty habits that made the biggest difference. They’re not revolutionary…but they work.
1. Keep Ingredients Simple
There was a time I believed more meant better. Hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, vitamin C, retinol, peptides, exfoliants, all applied/used in one go. What I ended up with was sensitivity, breakouts, and very confused skin. Now, I focus on products with minimal but effective ingredients. I go for formulas that don’t try to do ten things at once and I don’t mix too many actives. Keeping it simple has not only calmed my skin down, it made my whole routine feel calmer for my skin. It’s like I took all the noise out.
