The thing about being a makeup artist is you don’t really have one favorite. I mean how could you? One day it’s a cream blush that gives you that “just had the best nap” glow, and the next, it’s a powder that makes you look like you’ve been given an all over airbrushed look.
So, even though I have my go-tos (sometimes more than one type of go-to), these three products aren’t necessarily my favorites. These are products I genuinely think most people will love - whether you're a full face of glam person or someone who only digs into their makeup bag when plans involve leaving the house.
Makeup By Mario SoftSculpt Shaping and Bronzing Serum – This is a daily staple for me when it comes to basic everyday makeup. I also love it for when I’m at the beach. It’s great for subtle contouring and I love that it’s packed with skin loving ingredients that hydrate and leave your skin looking perfectly bronzed.
Pro Tip: Apply it on top of your foundation using the Makeup By Mario F4 brush, under cheekbones and along the hairline for a subtle sunkissed glow.
Hourglass Unreal Liquid Blush – It’s super lightweight (on the skin and in the bottle) and is easily buildable. It’s packed with hydrating ingredients that leave a subtle glow to the skin. You’ll also fall in love with the easy dropper application!
Pro Tip: You only need one drop of this which I’d recommend applying to the back of the hand and then using either your fingers or sponge to buff into the skin.
Christian Louboutin Teint Fétiche Le Fluide Foundation – My favorite glam foundation! This really does give you the ultimate ‘lit from within’ look to your skin. It’s amazing coverage and lasts so well with a glistening look to your skin.
Pro Tip: Mix a little moisturizer into the foundation and apply it using a fluff brush, buffing into the skin.
I should have been a makeup artist. I took many years of art and ended up working in banking for 20 years. About as far away from creativity as you can get. I think applying my makeup in the morning is a satisfying ritual and even if I have no plans I do the entire nine yards …. Just in case. It’s amazing the transformation in not only your appearance but your mood. I so appreciate your videos and your blogs. I feel as though I am always learning something. However my bathroom rivals Sephora lol. Thanks for all you do. Keep it up ❤️
Question: is it ok to wear makeup at the beach? I’ve always thought it was bad for your skin. I need a tutorial for going to the beach
